Decorations and unique drinks for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day – the one day a year you have the chance to really thank your Mom for all the great things she has done in your life. Usually filled with a poorly made breakfast-in-bed and dodgy art as a kid, Mother’s Day as an adult is your time to shine. Don’t worry, if you’re a little lost we’re here to help! Read on to find top tips on how to decorate your Mother’s Day celebrations and some unique drinks (and cocktails) you can share with your unique Mom on her special day.

Tip 1 – Our bottles double as cute vases

Empty a few Bundaberg drinks (by drinking them of course) and keep the bottles! Give them a quick rinse and pop in some bright flowers – use similar coloured flowers to the labels for bonus points.

Tip 2 – Set the scene

No matter where you’re celebrating Mother’s Day or how much effort you are putting into food and drinks, you can always make it feel that much more special by setting the scene. Coordinate colours and match flowers and drinks together for something that will really pop. Pull out the fancy glassware and add some fresh fruit for a lighter feel.

Tip 3 – Fancy it up a bit

Head to the shops and get yourself a metal or wooden drinks bucket on a stand. Fill the bucket with ice and top with an assortment of Mom’s favourite brews – they look stunning on ice and you’ll have cold drinks at hand for all of your guests

Tip 4 – Bake a Cake (or cupcakes)

Surprise Mom with a Ginger Beer Cake! The recipe uses everyone’s favorite Bundaberg Brew to deliver flavour that just can’t be beat. Mom will love the extra effort and special treat. You can find the Ginger Beer Cake recipe here.

Tip 5 – Tell Mum you love her!

This one requires no explanation and is sure to be a winner. It’s the three little words all Moms want to hear. I love you.

Unique Recipes Mum will love

If you’ve got all of the decorations down pat and the food sorted out it’s time to do something extra special and mix a cocktail or 2 (or a Mocktail – just skip the alcohol from any of the recipes below). Afterall – Mother’s Day and World Cocktail Day fall very close to each other this year… coincidence? We think not!

Bundaberg Moscow Mule

The Moscow Mule is gaining quite a lot of attention for its super simple recipe and unique flavor that can’t be matched. You’ll need Bundaberg Ginger Beer, vodka and lime – or, if you’re feeling extra special you can swap the vodka for almost any other liquor for a whole new drink (Bourbon = Kentucky Mule, Gin = English Mule, Whisky = Irish Mule, Tequila = Mexican Mule and White Rum = Jamaican Mule).
