5 Mocktails to Make with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks

A good mocktail is having a moment, and for good reason. Whether you are the designated driver, taking a night off the drinks or simply after something more interesting than water, alcohol free does not have to mean boring. The trick is to start with a base that already tastes great.

We have pulled five mocktails from our mixology bar, each one built on a different Bundaberg Brew. Pour one over ice, add a proper garnish and you have a drink worth making again. Here are five to get you started, from a zingy ginger mule to a creamy dessert in a glass.

1. Mimic Mule

If you love a classic cocktail, start here. The Mimic Mule does exactly what the name suggests, standing in for a Moscow Mule with none of the vodka and all of the bite. Bundaberg Ginger Beer brings the warmth and fizz, while fresh lime and mint keep it lively. Like a bit of heat? The Jalapeno Mint Mule turns things up a notch.

What you will need

  • Bundaberg Ginger Beer
  • 1 lime, cut into eighths
  • A pinch of mint
  • 10ml sugar syrup
  • Mint sprig, to garnish

How to make it: Muddle the lime, mint and sugar syrup, then shake and strain into a tall glass. Top with Bundaberg Ginger Beer and finish with a mint sprig.

2. Orang-a-Tang

Bundaberg Blood Orange is tart, deep and a little bit fancy, and this one shows it off. Muddled pineapple and lime give it a tropical lift, making it a great pick for a lazy brunch or a long lunch. For another citrus hit, try The Great Berry.

What you will need

  • Bundaberg Blood Orange
  • 2 pineapple pieces, about 4cm
  • Half a lime
  • A pinch of mint
  • Mint sprig and pineapple wedge, to garnish

How to make it: Muddle the pineapple and lime with the mint, shake, then pour into a large glass. Top with Bundaberg Blood Orange and garnish with mint and a wedge of pineapple.

3. The Amber Peach

Golden, mellow and easy to love, The Amber Peach is the crowd pleaser of the group. Bundaberg Peach leads, then peach and mango nectar layer in extra stone fruit sweetness, balanced with a squeeze of lime so it never tips into sugary. Serve it to friends who are not yet convinced a mocktail can be interesting. If you want a spiced twist, the Peach Ginger Fizz is well worth a look.

What you will need

  • Bundaberg Peach
  • 20ml peach nectar
  • 20ml mango nectar
  • 20ml lime juice
  • Peach fan and lime, to garnish

How to make it: Shake the peach nectar, mango nectar and lime juice together, strain into a tall glass and top with Bundaberg Peach. Finish with a peach fan and a lime wedge.

4. Pear and Sarsaparilla

For something with a bit more depth, reach for Bundaberg Sarsaparilla. Rich, rooty and nostalgic, it pairs beautifully with soft pear for a drink that feels like a grown up after dinner treat. Think of it as the mocktail equivalent of a nightcap, minus the morning after. Sarsaparilla fans should also try the Sarsaparilla Spider.

What you will need

  • Bundaberg Sarsaparilla
  • 3 pear slices, tinned is perfectly fine
  • 20ml lemon juice
  • Pear slices, to garnish

How to make it: Muddle the pear with the lemon juice, shake and add to a tall glass. Top with Bundaberg Sarsaparilla and garnish with a few pear slices.

Pear and Root Beer Cocktail

5. Cranberry Trifle

We have saved dessert for last. The Cranberry Trifle drinks like a pudding you can sip. Bundaberg Burgundee Creaming Soda is smooth and vanilla sweet, tart cranberry cuts through it, and a float of cream ties it all together. It is indulgent, moreish and completely alcohol free. What you will need

  • Bundaberg Burgundee Creaming Soda
  • 30ml cranberry juice
  • 20ml lime juice
  • 20ml cream
  • Lime wedge, to garnish

How to make it: Shake the cranberry and lime juice, pour into a long glass and top with Bundaberg Burgundee Creaming Soda. Float the cream on top and finish with a lime wedge.
