Our History
Bundaberg Ginger Beer is Australia's favourite Ginger Beer. Despite the passing of time, very little has changed. We are still dedicated to brewing the finest drinks in Australia.

1960
Established in Bundaberg in 1960, Bundaberg Brewed Drinks have been delivering premium crafted beverages from our family-owned brewery for over 40 years. Featured is our original Bundaberg Ginger Beer label. |

1968
Neville and Gladys Fleming with their son Cliff & daughter in law Lee Fleming purchased Electra Breweries (Bundaberg) Pty Ltd – a bottling and fermenting business. |

|
1973
In 1973 Electra Breweries moved operations from Electra Street to its present location at 147 Bargara Road, Bundaberg. |

|
1970's and 1980's
During the 1970’s & 80’s most of Bundaberg Brewed Drinks's focus revolved around the local market, manufacturing and selling of franchised drinks in Bundaberg and Maryborough. |

|
1980's
Ginger Beer started to expand in the 1980’s when the business secured distribution in Australian and New Zealand supermarkets. |
|
|
1985
Mr & Mrs Fleming (senior) retired in 1985. The business was now in the hands of Cliff and Lee Fleming. |

|
1987
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks began exporting their premium non-alcoholic drinks around the globe. |
|
|
1995
The company changed its name to "Bundaberg Brewed Drinks" to develop a distinctive local brand, offering the "Brewed to Be Better" promise. |
|
|
1997
In 1997, after 25 years, the local route business which was the corner stone of the company in the early days was closed, allowing Bundaberg Brewed Drinks to focus on becoming an International Brewed Beverage Manufacturer. |

|
2000
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks launched its first Television Advertising campaign. |
|
|
2004
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks contracted the planting of its first crop of ginger in Bundaberg. |
|
|
2005
In 2005 "The Bundaberg Barrel" was built to show visitors how Australia's number one ginger beer is made. The popular tourist facility includes interactive displays and educational material highlighting the unique brewing process which delivers Bundaberg's distinct flavour. |

2006
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks enjoyed International success, exporting to over 30 countries around the world, including New Zealand, UK, US, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and South Africa. |
